gwcheck32 - won't exire/reduce # of emails

GW 6.0 sp1

This maintenance tool will not Reduce/Expire # of emails to the limit set (500) - the log reports fine, shows those users that are over the 500 limit, reclaims storage, etc.... but will not delete the email over 500.

When the option Expire & Reduce is selected, secondary option is "Reduce Mailbox to limited size" is selected, isn't it to expire those that are oldest until the amount = 500? Or, am I looking at this the wrong way, and the maintenace tool actually refers to size (kb) - which I have no limit on?

The principal being, if that switch is not thrown to allow deletion of items NOT previously backed up (actually time-stamped), Expire/Reduce can't touch them.

I find I have the same problem using novell 4.11 and groupwise 5.5
