GroupWise 7

We wish to append a disclaimer on outgoing smtp messages, eg.
This message is directed in confidence solely to the person named above yada yada yada

How is this done in GroupWise? I have gone through all the menus I can find in Console One and have not found any area where this can be accomplished.

Thanks for your help.

Have not sen 7 up upto 6.5 it been the same Tools Options Enivorment signiture etc

Never give up never give in.

There are no short cuts to anything worth doing :)

That is for an individual signature line within the GroupWise client. We want to append disclaimer text on ALL outgoing internet email messages (independent of the users signature line).

I have not yet installed the GW7 snapins and I don't see this option in my current ConsoleOne. I had problems trying to update the snapins to 7. Any thoughts?

Previous versions of GroupWise didn't have this option, so you'll have to use the GW7 snapins if you want that functionality.

Updating snapins is easy.

Find the GW7 software dist. directory, go to \admin\c1admin, copy everything overtop of your ConsoleOne installation.

I now have the latest gw7 snapins. I have added the global disclaimer and nothing was appended to my test message. I read the console one help, it suggested it would be appended to my personal signature line. Sent another test message including my signature, disclaimer text was not appended. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing??

So after you create the signature, you have to go into the client settings and tell it to use the global signature that you created. Did you do that? It's the next section in that document.

If you've covered that base, you may want to shut down your post office/mta and restart them. Even though it kicks off an admin change process, I noticed that in testing, it doesn't seem to go into effect until they are restarted.

Thanks to all, this finally worked. However...(what a whiner, eh??) I was hoping it would append only to smtp outgoing mail and not to internal. It is appending to everything, including messages that are not using the signature line. Is there any settings so it only appends if the personal signature is used? (we don't generally send the signature stuff to each other).

Thanks, eh!!

This was a new feature of groupwise 7. I also hoped it would be something that implemented on the GWIA and could be applied as messages left the system. But instead, it is initiated at the client level.. It requires the GroupWise client (won't work for webaccess), and it applies to all messages not just ones going offsite. So I'm a little bit disapointed with it myself.
