Hi.

Environment: NetWare 5.0 (patched current), GroupWise 6.0.

Question: One of my staff has requested that I turn off the message size limitation to allow her to send an oversized email (message + attachment). The only place I've ever set email attachment size limitations are in NAV for gateways. I went in to temporarily shut it off to let her send the email, but I get the following message kicked back. Please note that I've removed the name of the sender:

Message cannot be delivered because administrator has enforced message transfer size limitation.

Sender: <username>
Subject: testattachment
Item Type: MAIL
Message ID: 3E5A5A70.E45:8:30787
Post Office Name: GWPO.WPDO
Transfer Limit is 3000 KB
Message size 10937 KB exceeds Transfer Limit of the agent

_____________

The strange part for me is the line saying, "Transfer Limit is 3000 KB". The ONLY place (I thought) that I set a limit was in NAV For Gateways with a limit of 5000 KB (which I turned off and still got the above message). The only thing I could find on Novell's KB was to go into Console One - GWIA object - Access Control tab - SMTP Relay Settings. I checked the setting there and the "Prevent messages larger than X Kbytes" box is NOT checked.

Could anyone tell me where this setting might be and how to adjust it?

TIA

Mark

Found it.

Have to go to Console One - Tools - GroupWise Utilities - Link Configuration. Click on the desired domain and there's the setting.

Thanks for all those who replied...<laughing>

Hey Mark,

I am trying to do the same thing and am having trouble. I have gwise 5.5 and netware 5. When I go to console one-tools- it doesn't give me a Groupwise utilities selection. Any suggestions will be apreciated.

Thanks,
Bill

Hello Bill,

Since you are running GroupWise 5.5, you do not have the same feature set (i.e. Message Transfer size limit). The only size limitations you can specify in GW 5.5 are for Internet messages through GWIA.

Those settings are gotten at with NWADMIN, GWIA Properties, Access Control settings. There you will find limits for both outbound and inbound messages.
