Hello,

I have been installing the GW6 client on our road machines and simply configuring them to find the IP of our router. If inside the LAN, when it fails we enter the inside IP. Works fine, but I believe there is a better way; either using the remote client or, better still, configuring to access via web browser.

Could someone lead me to the information necessary to improve this? Which is the better way to go? We have wireless internet service for the laptops, so getting to a browser is not a problem.

Thanks for any tips, suggestions, knowledge, information, etc... J Giles

webaccess on an apache server works great
just run the setup and you'll be up and running in 2 mins

i assuming you do have an entry for the ngwnameserver in dns as well
always hate to see ip addresses added as it's murder to cx

Thanks Terry,

However, I've learned NOTHING is ever as easy as planned! and that has now been confirmed once again...

During install everything seemed to go OK until it asked me whether to replace a newer JVM file with an older one - I said "No" and was prompted "Unable to install JAVA Virtual Machine". If that were all, I'd be pleased; however, when all was complete, Groupwise (local POA, MTA and GWIA) no longer works (even though I've rebooted the server). The same reference to GWENN3.nlm comes up as AUTOFAIL during both MTA and POA load. If I try to load MTA/POA individually, I get "unresolved".

Anyway, now no email at all and 75 angry "customers"!!

Oh well, JGiles

surprised it loads a jvm

the unresolved means an older agent is loading
the webaccess install or indeed any agent install reloads the gwenn etc
the mta you can get away with but webaccess - no
if you unload the groupwise agents and then type m gw*
at server and stop any gwise agents
then grpwise and it will be fine

i prefer running webaccess on a server without mta or poa
