The older version of GW would allow us to see the File ID's associated with each GroupWise account. We use this information to determine which users need to houseclean their groupwise. (We will start to limit disk usage in the future.)

Since we upgraded we have discovered there is no easy way to view this within the GroupWise client and Console One does not provide a reporting tool to extract this information (I am now about to try to do this using Crystal Reports). Any thoughts? Your help is appreciated.

What version of GroupWise are you talking about?

You can use NLIST to view that information.

Go to a command prompt and navigate to SYS:\LOGIN (F:\LOGIN).

Type CX at the DOS prompt to see what your current context is. Make sure you are in the correct context for the information that you are seeking. if you need to make context changes, do it now.

Type NLIST USER WHERE "NGW:File ID" eq <FID> /s

This command will allow you to view what User is associated with a particular FID.

If you look in the PO\OFUSER directory, each Users Mailbox database is USERxxx.DB. The "xxx" is the Users FID. You can use the following NDIR command to sort the USERxxx.DB files by size...

NDIR *.* /REV SORT SI

Hope this helps!

Good Luck.

Groupwise client, click
help
about.

Next to the users name will be the FID.

If the user is in cacheing mode it doesn't show.

or in console1
highlight user
properties
Groupwise
account
It will show FID on this screen.

The problem is that the person needing the fid info does not have rights to console one and does not want to go and visit 30 some users to determine the fid for each one. She maintains the server usage and is not the groupwise administrator. The other option is to extract the information through crystal reports but I have not been able to find the field containing the fid (so far, still working on it).
