GW and Outlook97?

Can groupwise be used in conjuction with MS outlook 97 on a network? I have a few users that prefer to use Outlook as opposed to Groupwise (mostly for it's calendaring functions). The program is already installed on the comptuters, but I need to know what are the headaches and/or problems associated with doing so. In addition, it's not in our budget to purchase Exchange.

Any suggestions and/or comments would be greatly appreciated!
