I'm completely stumped! We have a user who when logging on to her account on her PC can enter the wrong password (or even a blank password!) and it logs her into her GW account. This does not happen for other accounts on the same PC or for her account on a different PC.
This even happens after re-start.

although we can't pin it down to either her account or client, we've re-installed the client anyway but still get the same problem.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks,
Jules

My first suggestion ,if you did not already do it, would be to run the GW CleanIt utility prior to re-installing the client. Sounds like something in the registry. I have included the site where you can download a trial version of CleanIt 2.0 just in case you don't have it. Just an after thought, are you running the GW client with the "/@u-?" switch?

Thanks for the quick repsonse FarOut. We always run the Clean Up agent before re-installing so we always get a clean install. Yes we are running the client with the switch.

Jules,
My mind wants to come back to the registry as a possible cause. Have you done a clean on the client and then looked @ the Registry for any GW residue? The CleanIt utility has always been very good about removing the GW Client, but your situation is one that I have never heard of before.

Usually when we have a problem like this (bizarre) and there seems to be no logical explaination. I have found that the user was not running the latest GW Client. And under those situations installing the latest client corrects the problem. And believe me we have seen some very strange problems occur running an older client against a later version of a PO. Wish I had more to offer. Hopefully some else will have a more definitive answer.

Hi FarOut,
Thansk again for the response... we actually worked out what it was in the end... the user was using single sign-on but hadn't told us that... so even though we had the switch on, for her account it wasn't looking for a password. Thanks for all your suggestions on this one though.

Great to know you got figured out the mystery. I will add this to my notes for future reference. Thanks Jules for posting back what you found. Have a good one!
