GW 6.5 - user archived mail, archive is empty

GroupWise 6.5
User archived mail to c:\gwarch folder. When user toggles to archive folder no messages are displayed (except for about 5 if the display is set to "all items").

The folder is on the c: drive and has tons of files in it, so it exists, the groupwise environment is set correctly and there appears to be lots of data in the folders.

No error message is displayed when trying to access the archive.

So far I have:
1. Removed the read only flag from all the files (didn't work);
2. Renamed the c:\gwarch folder and pointed the archive to the new folder (didn't work);
3. Renamed the archive folder, archived a file to create a new folder, copied the new guard file into original folder, renamed the folder back again (didn't work);
4. Searched the novell site diligently but didn't find anything helpful;
5. Scanned the newsgroups, didn't find anything useful.

If anyone has any ideas I could try I would be very grateful!! Thank you.
 
Have you made sure the Archive folder has the correct FID as part of the name (ie if the user FID is 3XW the Archive folder should be of3xwarc.

Another option is to check it with GWcheck.

Yes, it is definitely the correct fid (I run weekly reports on all our post offices and I checked it on the report). Can you enlighten me about gwcheck with GroupWise 6.5. I am not certain about it (I am usually in console one for administering GroupWise). Thanks for the prompt posting.
