GW 6.5 Encountered an Error and GWise needs to close

We have approx. 1000 users, and it is happening over several different Post Offices. A top down rebuild has been done, but still getting errors and closing down of GWise. Happens when clicking on your calendar, and trying to post a calendar item, sometimes just clicking on an email, I opened my personal calendar and selected a date in November to update some information and it closed down my Groupwise application; and also, trying to open a word document attached to an e-mail brought up the 'gwise has encountered a problem and needs to close' error. I have been looking, without any success for someone who has had a similar problem, i know you're out there somewhere! Can anyone help?

The "??? has encountered an error and needs to close" is a very generic error. Does this error occur to all GW clients, and what version of GW are you running? We got this error in mass one time when we pushed a new image to about 1800 desktops. Our problem was a bad image concerning windows messaging.

All users are on GW6.5.4 Not everyone encounters these problems, but it happens randomly to users trying to post or delete appointments, and/or open email. It is all over, not just certain po's. This is not something that has happened once to all users. Any other ideas? Thanks for your input Farout!

Every time I've seen that error it has been a client problem. My fix has been to uninstall, run the GW cleaner, and reinstall. That's not really practical in your situation, but here's a link to the cleaner anyway.

I've seen that problem (if it's the one I"m thinking of) and it has to do with SSL. Are you using SSL settings? THere was a TID that came out a long time ago that said SP2 or SP3 fixes it, but I've still seen it in SP4. Don't know what to think. I know this doesn't help, but I can at least relate.
