Hi all -
I'm having problems restoring my post office to an offline restore directory. I have created this restore area within ConsoleOne for GroupWise. I can see the GroupWise PO & Domain in BrightStor manager & it looks as though it is backing up correctly, data size looks the same, but when I go to restore that backup via session, I get the following error:
Sep-25 12:15:11 Start Restore Operation, Queue AQ6_server
Client ADMIN
Sep-25 12:15:12 PO Restore test
Sep-25 12:15:13 No job details will be recorded in the database

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I posted this also on CA-BrightStor thread.

Hi Belynda,
I have been having this exact same problem. And have been working on it for days, along with ca's tech support people. Did you ever find a solution for this?

Rob

So far I have only found success restoring to the restore area, not back to the domain or po.

It looks like the issue is a syntax problem with your destination.

First, check out the cool solutions doc called "a_configuring_arcserve_guide_gw.html" and configure your gwtsa.ncf accordingly.

Second, I suggest you add the switch "/log ll-v" to your gwtsa.ncf which will put it in verbose logging mode. When you connect using Brightstor the screen on the server will show what it thinks are defined groupwise components. You will likely see something like this

Resource: SERVER.Groupwise System 1 [DOM]GWDO:
Resource: SERVER.Groupwise System 1 [PO]GWPO:
Resource: SERVER.Groupwise System 1 [TMP]RESTORE:

In these examples the GWDO, GWPO, and RESTORE are the folder names in your file system for the Domain, Post Office, and Temporary Restore area. Your destination for the temp restore area would be "\\agent name in Arcserve\[TMP]Restore"

Thirdly, I found that downloading the beta sp2 agents for groupwise made everything work more smoothly.

I am still trying to work out a full disaster recovery method for gw, so if you successfully restore to the domain and po themselves, please post how to do it.

Good Luck.

Update - my full NetWare and GroupWise recovery testing using BrightSTOR Arcserve 9 is complete - if any GW and AS9 admins are interested I will be happy to contribute my method.
