Hi I need guidance on how to go with 8.1 ,I heard it is entirely different from informatica 7X ..Anyways helpful guide to install and configure on Unix boxes as well as XP.

I am trying to get to do list in a sequence for informatica,coz everyting is bits and pieces .

Definitely read the upgrade docs since it is different in how the services work. The designer and workflow stuff is mostly the same. You'll need to understand the new architecture before you can decide on how to set things up. Once you have that, the rest is fairly straight-forward.
