Hi All,

I have recently started working for a company who have Checkpoint NG with Application Intelligence installed on a server. Everything works fine, however the server is about 10 mins walk from my desk and if I need to add or remove anybody from the policy we have running, its a loooong walk.

My question is from the start, exactly how can I set up my system so that I can use the GUI to administor the firewall ?

My machine is running Win2000.

Thanks in advance
John

On the Firewall machine run cpconfig and add the IP address of your machine.
Install the smart clients onto your machine and point at the firewall

Thanks for the quick reply

I have done all that at the server. What is the exact name of the client software I need ?

do you have access to the checkpoint download site.
if so down load the windows wrapper version for your checkpoint FW 1 version (about 120Mb)
then burn this to CD and install on your PC
when you load it you deselect all the firewall modules and select Smart Console
this will put the dashboard, tracker and all the required GUI clients

Thanks a lot for this. i was just in the middle of trying to download that file so I will give that a whirl.

:)
