Version: Networker 6.1.1 Build 238 Power/110
Unix System: Sun Ultra Enterprise 450 w/ 1Gb RAM Running Networker only.

We are running the Networker on a Sun Solaris box on the network. We access the Networker GUI interface screen via an NT4.0 workstation. When running backups we notice that the GUI interface screen does not refresh often enough.

The interface screen will go completely blank for minutes at a time. Interactivity with the GUI screen is limited at best. Click on "Group Control" and it may take 2-3 minutes for the screen to refresh and honor your selected request.

Are the refresh rates set on the Unix server? Could this be a network issue? The workstation seems to run all other apps w/o problems, even when the Networker screen is not refreshing. The network is "tried and true" and the Sun box is 6 months new.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

On the NT GUI, click on OPTIONS, followed by CUSTOMIZE, then the POLLING INTERVALS tab.

The primary polling interval is for the configure and monitor tabs

The secondary polling interval is for volumes and indexes.

However, it sounds like a network issue, as I do exactly the same thing on a sun server with nt desktop and I get instantaneous response.
