Everyone:

I need some advice on how to go about this:

I have created an applicaton, i.e. a GUI, with buttons and so forth. It is suppose to send and receive commands (events) to another computer. What is the best way to create a "GUI event handler" that knows what to change on the GUI display and what messages to "register".

Do you all know of any examples on the web or books I may reference.

Thanks in advance...

How are you communicating with the other computer? Ethernet, Serial (RS232, USB), Parellel port, I.P.? This would help. It sounds like I'm missing something though.

I think perhaps you are talking of DCOM things usin port 80..Then you need a communication medium/provider too which will carry the messages pumped to another end. Still you problem picture is not coming clear to mind.

ok - i have a master gui and an embedded slave system; they communicate via a rs232 modem; i've created some protocols and i need a way for the 'gui handler' to handle events from the 'gui' and from the 'controller' which gets messages from the slave;
