I have a customer that has assigned a DID number to an adjunct, put the adjunct in the VM cover group, and put a Promary Coverage button on a telephone set. When calls come in to the DID number, it rings on the Coverage button, then goes to Voice Mail if not answered. They want the be able to light the MW led on the telephone when messages arrive in the adjunct's mailbox, as well as the phone's own mailbox.

What is the best way to accomplish this? I know I can renumber a calling group to the DID number, and make the phone the MW receiver, but how do I also make the calls ring at the telephone first, then cover to Voice Mail?

My stupid solution for today was to enable outcalling for the mailbox, and have it dial #54xxx to light the MW led. They will have to turn it off manually.

Hmmmm, I did this once before, If I remember correctly you use the message waiting station of a DGC. I believe you create a calling group with the extension number of the phantom mailbox and then enter the extension's light you want to light when there is a message.

Extensions, page up, group calling, message, enter the new groups extension number (phantom) and then message waiting light extension number.

Hope this helps.....
