Hello all,
I'm new to the forum. Hi.
A local ISP has been charging a good $60 a connection for wireless for each connection. Two computers = $120. Not cool. In response I've decided to route internet for my clients via winroute 4.2.1 (as I've done successfully many times with other isps) from the xp home box they have connected (but only with 2k in the past).
For some reason, however, the xp machine connected to the cirronet "wavebolt modem" is unpingable. No dice from any computer. The switch is picking up the link as well the nic. Could an isp install a proxy service or dummy service to cause this problem?
btw, I live in an area overseas where isps do unscrupulous things like launch denial of service attacks on each other.
