Hi All,

I am hoping somebody can pout me out of my misery here. For some odd reason any new user that tries to sync using any device, the sync fails and I get an event 3005 stating an http 409 error for the user trying to connect. The users can logon via OWA with no issues at all and everything else works just tickety boo.

I have re-set all IIS permissions, checked permissions on mailbox and also made sure they are all in the same groups as the people that do work. I've checked for licencing issues and it isn't that either, interestingly one of the mailboxes has been setup for at least a year but the user has only just been given an iPhone to use, the other people all use XDA's just for info. I can see no reson why it's doing this, it seems very odd and frankly is really startng to get on my moobs! :)

Any help anybody can give will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Will

Things to check:

KB926144 and KB937635.

In IIS Admin, check the default web site uses "All Unassigned".

Do you have alias IP addresses? If so, try removing them.

Do you have host headers? OWA needs a blank host header.

Verify that the following settings are enabled for the front-end and back-end servers.

Front-end Exchange Server:
Default Web Site: Basic Authentication
ExAdmin: Integrated Authentication
Exchange: Basic Authentication
ExchWeb: Anonymous
Active Sync: Basic Authentication
OMA: Basic Authentication (note: Default domain must be “\”)
Public: Basic Authentication.

Back-end Exchange Server:
Default Web Site: Anonymous, Integrated Authentication
ExAdmin: Integrated Authentication
Exchange: Integrated Authentication, Basic Authentication
ExchWeb: Anonymous
Active Sync: Basic Authentication
OMA: Anonymous, Integrated Authentication
Public: Anonymous, Integrated Authentication.

As a last ditch, delete and recreate the ActiveSync Virtual Server.

Hopefully one of those will help you :)
