Hi
We ran out of space on our server hd's and replaced them with larger drives. I reinstalled NW 5.1 then applied SP7. All works well after setting up the admin PC and the user accounts. Next I installed the original GW 6.5 CD, then immediately downloaded and installed GW 6.5 SP3. Running setup copied the files, then launched Console One to setup the GW system. I entered the domain/PO., etc. and when it launched, the server console errors stating that the 'path to the domain database is invalid or blocked'. It lists the correct path and when I look in the directory, the .db file is there. I tried reinstalling GW 3 times and spent many hours but keep getting the same problem. I searched all over here and the web but could not find any helpful info. Any hints in the right direction would be appreciated.

You wiped the whole thing out and started from scratch? Why would you do that?

Anyway, GRPWISE.NCF should have the MTA file listed that your system is trying to load.. Something like this:

LOAD SYS:SYSTEM\GWMTA.NLM @DOMAIN.MTA
LOAD SYS:SYSTEM\GWPOA.NLM @POST.POA

Edit that DOMAIN.MTA file and doublecheck the path that is listed for the 'home' path. Maybe you have the wrong format or something. On a netware system, you shouldn't have drive letters, it should be UNC. Realistically, it doesn't even need the server name, just volume\path. Should look something like this:

/home-\\SERVERNAME\VOLUME\grpwise\domain\MYdomain\

Also remember the 8.3 file naming convention. It has tripped up many a Admins., myself very much included.

I didn't wipe anything out - I still have the old hd in tact (removed from system), just installed new hd's and reinstalled from scratch. I will look again using the suggestions and report back.

When we upgraded from 5.5 to 6.5 we had this error. The wpdomain.db was there but it was of zero length (and therefore wouldn't open). I copied it from backup and all was well.
