I currently admin Groupwise 5.2 company wise. I have a user running W2k pro that has the infamous "?" in the attachment window. You are able to right-click on the attachment and open with an error that pops up in Word "Overwrite existing word file....."

I already re-created the link in windows with ".doc" file extensions, because that what was described at support.novell.com.

I have some suspicion that it has something to do with remote, but dont have any guide to steer me in the right direction as far as troubleshooting. Does anybody in the "real world" have a solution(s) to try before I try to reload Groupwise?

Are you trying to solve the "?" problem or the "Overwrite existing file" error? If it is the overwrite error, check the Windows temp diretory. When you open an attachment in GroupWise it creates a temp file and then launches Word opening the temp file. Clear out the temp directory.

I am actually looking more for the groupwise problem. More specifically I am looking for a solution besides installing groupwise again to cure the "?" in the attachment.

ps: I did clear the temp folder; that didnt solve the word error...
