I am having a Groupwise problem with a user who accesses our network via Citrix. The problem is when this user clicks the Groupwsise shortcut, the program opens and hangs. On the bottom left corner it says "retrieving messages" and hangs. I go to close Groupwise and it says program has stopped responding. I know this user is able to recieve messages because Notify pops up when a new message comes in. She is not able to access her mail because the program hangs. This person has no other programs running and has logged on and off to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Does it only lock up when running it on the Citrix box? Can the user log into groupwise on a system sitting on the network? Does the same issue appear?

Do others using Citrix have the same issues, or just this user? If it's just this user, have you ran an analyze/fix on the users account?

Start there then let us know.

Ran analyze/fix. Problem seems to be resolved. Thanks again.

Cool, glad everything is working for you again.

I have a question. I'm getting a report of infected files located in one of my groupwise files. They are listed as .avb files. The file they are located in is gwdomain/wpgate/gwia/000.prc/gwwork. My anti-virus software is not able to cure these files. If I delete them, will they affect the way groupwise runs?

Shouldn't at all, there are actually some troubleshooting proceedures on Novell's site for cleaning that directory out and letting your Gateways recreat it. I would make sure you have all your gateway's shutdown, clear out the directroy then reload your gateway.

Of course the .AVB file is an Inculan Anti-Virus virus infected file so GroupWise is not using it with the .AVB extension anyway. I would say it's safe to delete that file from the 000.prc directory

Also make sure you are using the latest virus scan patch files. I'm sure you've already updated but thought I'd mention it anyway.
