Groupwise locks the server

We have two Netware 5.1 servers. We have a GW server running a PO, MTA and GWIA. It was running Netware 5.1 (no service pack) and GW5.51. We installed Netware sp4 on both servers and when we rebooted users could not logon. We reinstalled the license and all was fine.(weird) The next day the GW server was locked. (blank screen, had to turn power off) When we reboot, the hard drive is heavily tasked and the server runs very slow for about an hour. There are also processing errors in the PO. We installed GWsp5 rebooted and everything ran great. The next morning the server was locked again with the same problem occuring.
Any thoughts out there?

Hi AlienEmpire -

Do you have any type of backup running overnight? If so, can you check it's logs.

I know when we upgraded, we had some issues with our backup software (ARCServIT) and had to apply quite a few patches to get it running successfully. Ours never locked/ABended the server. . . it just never loaded properly.
