I am working on setting up GWIA for a business, and I am hearing different things from different people. What we want is for any mail sent to our domain to be forwarded to a secondary mail server until our dialup agent downloads messages, then sends them to the appropriate mailbox in groupwise. I am told this is not the way it works, we have to setup multiple mailboxes with the isp, and then setup ip addressing on the network, and then enable PFA or POP agent settings. Has anyone ever done this before and made it work? I really need to know.
Joe, the way I understand GWIA, it is expected to be online at all times so it can be reached with a browser. What you are trying to do, be offline most of the time and dialup for mail, needs the cooperation of an ISP or a GroupWise-specialist provider. Since you want GWIA - browser access, you'd best talk to allegro.net - check their web site <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> or call 1-800-grpwise. or you could get a full-time internet connection, put up a firewall, and run your own GWIA. Allegro's ad is on page 37 or the January 2K Netware Connections. If you don't need browser access, you can use almost any isp which understands mail relay to GroupWise - I used PSInet for this kind of relay for many years.
Fred Wagner
frwagne@ci.long-beach.ca.us

I am having the same problem. The docs say that GWIA has to be running even for dynamic IP's from the ISP. I am
trying to pull down POP3 mail and haven't gotten it to work
yet. Much frustration and the docs are quite lacking.
The browser access to the PFA is scant and isn't any help.
Novell really let us down on this one.....
I put a query about my dilema in GW forum here.
