I added the Groupwise calendar to my desktop as a permamnent feature and have had problems with my computer ever since. I have problems with the computer freezing up and difficulty shutting down the system. When I remove the calendar from the wallpaper/desktop I don't have thoe problems. My operating system is Windows 2000. Has anyone encountered this problem or have any possible suggestions?

Other than don't put the shortcut on your desktop?

Check Novell's website, to see if there's some conflict or something. But other than that, I tend to not pull things out of Groupwise to the desktop, even back when I was using Windows 98. Jennifer Sigman

Did you install WMSNT (Windows Messaging for NT/2000) prior to installing GroupWise? If not, uninstall GroupWise, uninstall Windows Messaging, then install Windows Messaging using WMSNT, then reinstall GroupWise.

Good Luck!

Salserocito,

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it. I am a little curious as to why that would make a difference. Could you elaborate a little?

Groupwise needs Windows Messaging in order to run everything properly. Jennifer Sigman

I know that its not exactly the problems that you descibed, but the following TID does speak about using WMSNT...

In order for GroupWise to function correctly on a NT/2000 worksation, the workstation need NT Window Messaging to be installed BEFORE the GroupWise client. If it is not installed, or its installed after the GroupWise Client, you will always have some sort of issue.

Good Luck.
