Groupwise Connector - Mail Bouncing

I have an Exchange site with multiple servers connected to a groupwise 5.5 system via the connector for Groupwise.

dirsync is ok.

groupwise users can pick exchange users from their Address List and mail is sent ok.

Exchange users on the exchange server with the connector are also ok.

However exchange users who are on servers other than the one with the connector, select their groupwise recipient from the new GAL and the mail gets bounced. with a recipient not known at server (name of server with connector).

Any ideas?? I have a feeling its to do with address generation??? All the Gwise users SMTP alias are somehow set to user@core.domain.com???? is this right???
