Good day all,

I have a Groupwise client installed on a WIN XP station, everything works fine except for the first time the use tries to create a new mail message. When pressing the new mail icon the Microsoft installer begins an install of Microsoft Office 2000 Small Business. A dialog box appears with the following message

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available"

When I press cancel the regular "Mail to" box appears and everything is OK. Mail then works untill the next time I exit and re-start the client.

HAs anyone a solution for this ?

I believe that, and this is assuming that you are running GroupWise v5.5.x, if you install GW55SP5, that should solve your issues.

Take a look through the README file. It happens to state that changes were made to the v5.5.5 client to interact and coexist with Office XP better.

Good Luck!

Yes we are running GW5.5EP with SP3a. I have not installed SP4 since it is still fairly new. This problem only happens on some XP stations not all of them. I also have one users with WIN2000 with the same problem. Do you have any way to fix it without the SP? IE: is there a order in which the programs should be installed and setup in order to avoid this problem?

The fact you are using the GroupWise v5.5 Enhancement Pack throws an extra variable into the mix.

Have you tried using the regular version of the Client? if not, give it a try to see if this an Enhancement Pack issue, or otherwise.

Also, are you accessing the GroupWise PO via IPX, UNC or TCPIP?

Good Luck.

Accessing VIA TCPIP the W2K is using IPX. I'll have to look for an older client vewrsion to see if that help

BTW... When you installed the GroupWise Client software, did you select for Application Integration to occur? If so, that may be your issue. Try reinstalling the Client Software without applying the Application Integration aspect.

Good Luck.

We always have integration off as we do not use the doc. storage/retreival system
