Hi.

Is it possible to change Active Directory (ldap) password through Groupwise Client (Tools -> Options -> Security)?

We have managed to read the AD user's password from AD ldap but unable to change it.

Hi,

I work almost exlcusively with eDirectory, but here are some LDAP configuration tips that should apply to any LDAP compliant directory:

1) The GroupWise LDAP configuration can be set up as Persistent Bind (POA connects on behalf of user) or Per User Bind (GW Client connects directly to LDAP). Although Persistent Bind performs better, I have seen issues with password changes. Try Per User Bind just as a test.

2) Full LDAP Authentication features work only if your directory is full LDAP Level 3 compliant. This is definitely the case with eDirectory and all works well. If AD is also fully compliant then it should not make any difference and GW should be able to change the password just fine. One way to test this functionality is to download a open-source LDAP browser and attempt to change an AD password with it.
