Does anyone have any links or advice on moving Groupwise programs to another server? I can find plenty of stuff on moving post offices but not on the other componants.

Thanks

Moving the domain is pretty simple and straight forward. Much like a PO move, you need to make sure you modify all the TCP/IP addresses, links, and UNC paths for the domain object. Also make sure you modify the MTA startup file to reflect the new home location. After the successful move make sure to rename or remove all references to the MTA on the old server, so that no one accidentally starts it up there.

Moving the gateways is another story. The easiest and most relaible method to do this is to delete the gateways where they currently reside and recreate them after you successfully move the domain. This is an absolute necessity for WebAccess due to its integration with the Web Server, and is highly recommended for GWIA.

There should be no settings to worry about with WebAccess, but definitely record all pertinent settings from GWIA. Make a backup file of the existing GWIA.CFG file also.

Before you do any moving, check your system health (source and destination) and make sure that the Web Server is up and running on the destination server.
