Groupwise 6.5 for Linux - Setting up internet agent

Hey all,

I'm having some issues setting up an internet agent in GW 6.5, running on Redhat Enterprise Linux 3. I'm new to Groupwise, and Novell in general, so bear with me a bit. Here's what I've done so far:

1. Installed eDirectory, ConsoleOne, and the Groupwise system.
2. Set up my tree and context via ndsconfig.
3. Create a new system in ConsoleOne with a domain and PO. Set up a couple users to test, and I am able to login with the GW client from the local network.

So now, I'm trying to get the internet agent set up so I can send and receive mail from outside the network. I'm trying to follow the documentation on the Novell site, which directs me to run to the agent setup off of the admin CD. Doing this works up until it asks for the domain name in LDAP form. I'm entering it like this:
cn=domain,ou=myou,o=context
Doing this gives me an error about not being able to add an object to the directory, with the code ar29. Nothing I do gets around this.

So, I figure I'll try to set up the object from ConsoleOne. I add a new internet agent under the domain and set up my internet domain in it. Seems to work fine, but mail isn't going out yet. No errors.. it just kinda sits there. I'm kinda thinking that the ConsoleOne way of adding an agent doesn't quite do it right.

Now I'm stuck. I can't get the agent config from the admin CD to work, and doing it manually doesn't work either. Would anyone happen to have any suggestions please?

the LDAP format it wants I *think* is in a different format.
ex: you're phaetar.tektips.net (cn, ou, o)
so cn=phaetar, ou=tektips, o=net
entering just your domain name should be
ou=tektips,o=net I would guess.

I'm used to seeing it entered in DNS fomat.. mail.mydomain.com or whatever.

I have not seen this screen in the GWIA setup before.. then again I've never seen it on Linux! ;) One suggestion: there may be some folks here with the answer, but you're pretty far out in the ether at the moment. I'd personally pose this Q to the ngw list. to join. all Groupwise admins, some of them running on Linux. Many of them are the very top of their field (the kinds of folks who author cool solutions, admin guides, & even some Novell folks.) I'm sure several folks will know your answer right away. There is also an article by Tay Kratzer in Novell Connection magazine from last year going through a GW install on linux. GWIA is conspicuous by its absense, but lots of other good info on other agents, client, etc:

One thing to look out for that I have seen is the post office agent can be a little flakey on some linuxes. This is a new OS for Groupwise, new file system and a new port so there are going to be some things that need attention - or a support pack to get smoothed out.
