Groupwise 6.5 Client on Vista

I am trying to install the Groupwise 6.5 client on a new Windows Vista laptop, but it fails just at the end complaining that Outlook is not the default mail client (I presume because GW is trying to become the default client). The user is an administrative user.

I really haven't much chance to get to know Vista. Any clues?

Where GroupWise 6.5 is no longer supported/developed, I'm assuming that it will not install on Vista.

I am told that if you have the GroupWise client installed already on XP, then upgrade to Vista, it will work.

Thank you, but new machine, so no XP heritage.

Is it possible to make the 7 client talk to a 6.5 post office?
