I want to beable to use the Groupwise client on a stand alone PC for a user at home but I cannot figure out how to have the client connect to the POP3 or IMAP4 server with the Groupwise Client. When I open the Groupwise client on the PC it comes up with the Novell Groupwise Startup Screen. How do I configure it to connect only with POP3 and thus bypassing this screen.

Thanks

The GroupWise Client connects to the GW Post Office via UNC, Maped Drive or TCP (ip addr:1677). If you connect to a VPN you might try to map a drive and connect that way but this is not the best option. I once tried using the TCP method but had to open a port on the Firewall (1677). It worked fine but I was not too happy about the open port. So I set up WebAccess and use the web browser to allow everyone to connect to GroupWise from outside. Best option as they must login to get access and you can place part of the web server in a DMZ if you want.

The only way that I did it once is to set up the client as a remote, using a local directory for the GW files. Once it's running you can add other accounts, but the client seems to need a Groupwise "mailbox" to connect to.

I got it working with the Windows client but need it to work with the Java client for Linux but the Linux version does not have the Remote option. Oh well.
