GroupWise 5.5 Undeliverable Status

Here's the problem... Sending a mail from one user to another user (internal), the name is spelled wrong (domain is correct). It takes a week for the sender to get a reply saying it is Undeliverable. However, when the same message is sent from an external (such as Yahoo), the Yahoo sender is notified immediately that it is Undeliverable! Why the difference and how can we fix it so the internal users are notified immediately as well.????? Thanks
 
the mail internally is sent using internet address?

If so check all your internet addressing.

Make sure you have info in tools,system operations, internet addressing.

Make sure the gwia doesn't have the NIA switch.

Make sure you have all your clients on at least Groupwise 5.5 client. 5.2 cleint didn't support internet addressing.

Run through a top-down rebuild to ensure your postoffice's and secondary domains have all the correct info.
