hi, I have a user trying to run groupwise 5.5 on Windows XP. The program installed fine, and it runs, however whenever we reboot her system, I have to re-enter her password, and the IP address of the server for the client to connect. If I make her a member of the local admins group on the machine, this does not occur, but as soon as I remove her from the local admins group, we get the promt as soon as Notify runs (from Startup). Once I enter the info, it connects fine. If she logs off & back on to the domain, she can still connect; it's only when she reboots that the settings are "lost".

why is this doing this? None of our other users are local admins, and they don't get this prompt. What do I have to do to make GW remember the server address?

TIA for any suggestions.

it should write this to the registry

two things worry me though and you need to expand

firstly it's xp - what a pile of sh**

secondly - domain - is this in a ms domain - if so is the user getting a local account on box or a domain account
