One user has a problem. When she sends an e-mail, a copy of the sent mail is sent to her mailbox. She is also having a problem with a distribution list she is in. She doesn't get e-mails from people that send to the distribution list she is a part of. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Domenick! Have you checked if she has set any rules for outgoing mail? From experience I know that users often delete the sent items folder when they only mean to delete the copies of messages stores in the folder. Then you have to create a new sent items folder and then create a rule to actually get copies of the sent messages there. Something could have gone wrong in that rule.

When you update the mailing lists they are not updated on the clients until the users have closed and opened them again. Until this is done the client suse the old distribution lists.

I'll check her rules. She barely knows how to turn the PC on, so I doubt she set any rules up. But you never know.
Thx

Another cause for sent mail showing up in what the users call their inbox, is having the display setting set wrong. By default here, ours is set at 'Custom mailbox settings'. When users are having a problem, this is usually set to 'All Items'.

I've also had users delete their sent items folder, which can be fixed by right-clicking their mailbox icon and choosing the 'new folder'. In the resulting dialog, choose 'Find Results Folder'. That will enable the option to select a 'Predefined results folder', which allows you to choose the 'Sent Items' folder.

Well rules are not set on the PC. I'll check the users display settings to see of that is the problem.
thx

Have you tried setting up the mailbox properties?
Sometimes users will check all items (sent, received, draft, task) and they all end up in the mailbox instead of where you would want them.

Every once in a while we'll have a user fall off a distribution list after we run a check on the post office.
We just readd them.

If people have their "Frequent Contacts" in the 'Name Completion Search Order' list, name completion will pull from there first. So if you add a name to a group in the Novell Address book, and the above situation exist on someone's PC, when that someone sends an email address to the group using name completion, the old group is used not the new group. (In other words, the group in Frequent Contacts is not updated when you change the group in the Novell Addressbook.) It is a good idea to tell everyone to take the "Frequent Contacts" address book off the "name Completion Search Order" list.
