How do I go about setting up Groupwise 5.5 to accept messages only from specific Ip Addresses. We are going to frontbridge for spam and AV filtering and we need to set it up to accept mail only from frontbridge.

Any help would be nice
thank in advance

Hey chefpj,
Wouldn't the configuration be on the FrontBridge side? Is FrontBridge an inhouse or outside service spam/virus blocking solution?

Frontbridge is an outside spam/viruses filter service. all of our mail is routed to there servers then there servers forward our mail to our internal machines. i need to set our postoffice to only accept mail from frontbridge

Is your GW server behind a firewall? If so, then you could set up a filter on the firewall to only allow SMTP traffic from that IP address.

Use the force (firewall), Luke!

Thank I forgot about using the firewall for filtering.

A possible alternate - (I've never done this, but there are options that supposedly allow it.)

In NWADMIN, GWIA Object, Access Control, Class of Service, (Normally the next item is "Default Class of Service")
Edit this, Set to 'Prevent Incoming Messages' with an exception of 'Allow mesages from' the IP address you want to accept mail from.
