Hi there,

One of our employees has left the company. But he was expecting an important email. We don't have his password. I tried to use Change Password in Netware Admin but it does not work. Any ideas?

We run Groupwise 5.2 on Netware 4.11

Thank you,
oleg

ovs8,

This may sound like a stupid question, and forgive me if you've already thought of this, but are you sure you're changing the right password?

You need to make sure that you have the appropriate GroupWise snapins for NWAdmin. If the correct GroupWise snapins are installed, then you will have a "GroupWise Account" page (might be titled differently, I can't remember) in the user properties. It's under that page which you need to change the password. It's a separate password from the NDS account.

Once again, forgive me if this sounds basic. I'm just not sure what level of admin that you are (beginner/advanced) and what you've tried already.

Well, I know just the basics in Groupwise. But just minutes ago I was able to get that user password reset. I think I was using his Groupwise account's Client Options-Security-Clear Password. Although I'm still not certain what excaclty caused it to change, since I was also playing with his NDS's Account Detail-Password Restrictions.

thanks,
oleg
