I am using crystal 2008 and I know that I crystal does not allow me to group on data that is not there, but I need to get around this.

I am trying to get a total of the amount of trips requested per hour and if there are not any trips made during an hour I want a zero. After I get through this step I need to make a histogram out of the data. So I am having trouble getting a zero to show up when a trip is not made that hour. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it, thanks!

The best solution is to create a table for each hour in the day, and then link it using a left-outer to link to the details. This depends on you being allowed to create a new table, or can easily get one created to your specifications.

Another way is to create a set of running totals (which are an option under the [Field Object] on the [Insert] menu). Each of them does a count of something, maybe account number. But each uses the formula option on the [Evaluate] section, and counts just for the hour. That would get you the totals but I don't think you could do a histogram from them. You could export data and do a histrogram in Excel, maybe.
