I'm currently monitoring about 900 servers with my CIM console and I'd like to set up custom groups that I can drop these servers into. My idea is to group the servers by the line of business that owns them and then set up custom queries and tasks on those groups. The problem is that I don't know and can't find any documentation on how to set up a custom group. Has anyone done this before or does anyone know how to do this?

I think you have already reached limit of my knowledge but you have not had any reply since June 17.

I created groups by site. And then I added appropriate servers to each group. Somce servers are located in more than one location.

I then setup filters. For each group, I run trhough the set of filters. I also set limits on certain crtical servers.

Sounds like you are beyond this but if it helps, great.
