Using CR 8.5, I am attempting to group detail within a report for like account numbers. Initially I created a 5th group in the report to achieve this. This works except; reformatting the report to hide the details of each group, adding subtotals for each of the 7 columns, suppressing the additional white space as a result of the new group, etc...does not appear to be the best way to achieve my goal. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but try this...

Right click in the gray area of the Group Header.
Select Change Group.
In the 2nd box down it probably says "in ascending order"; Change this to Specified Order.
Click on the new tab that says Specified Order.
Create a name for 1 of your "like account number" groups.
Click New.
Set the account equal to (=) or "like" several accounts.
Repeat this process until all your accounts are labeled or go to the third tab "Others" and place the other accounts into an "Others" Group.

Now all your details should fall in place.

Good luck!
