I have a drop down with more than 100 options. I would like to group them like GroupA , GroupB etc and user should be able to see Group Headings without selecting it and choose what ever option fall under the his choice of group. Can soem please let me know how to do it.

A tree is also the best option for me, but there may be some more options:

- An Editable JComboBox where users can type anf filter
- Two combos, one with groups and another dynamically loaded with options

Cheers,
Dian

It all starts with proper design. The first statement by the OP is "I have a drop down with more than 100 options.", and that's where the horror (or was it 'error'...) started...
