Hi, using crystal 11.5. I am currently gropuing a report by suppliers with a distinct count and sum of a qty. These suppliers have another table attached which defines the type of supplier. Where a type = a certain criteria I want to display this is one supplier as such, include the distince count and sum formula. Can anyone assist me in doint this?

Thanks

Just group the report by supplier type and add a summary on that group.

If you only want to see one type of supplier suppress the group header/footer for the other supplier type you do not want to see.

Thanks Ian, but I want to only see a sum for one supplier type, the rest of the suppliers type should not be summed but show the detail of each supplier. Does that make sense?

I am not being clear.

I want supplier type A

Supplier A1
Supplier A2
Supplier A3

I then want Supplier Type B

Supplier B1
Supplier B2
Supplier B3

I then just want a total for Supplier Type C

Supplier Type C Total (Total of Supplier C1 - C3)

From my understanding you are explaining how to not suppress the other types of suppliers, when I want to included all supplier types, but only show 1 as a sum by its type.

Does that make sense?

Just a slight change on my suggestion, in Detail then suppress if suplier type = c and suppress GF for Supplier type <> c.

Sorry one more question. I currently have this sorting by supplier with the highest # of items to the lowest. I still want to keep this sort but obviously my grouped supplier type will be one supplier in this sort selection. How will I do this, when they are being displayed form different sections? Currently I am using Group Sort Expert which I wouldnt think would continue to work?

You will need to group on a formula instead

@group

If SupplierType = 'C' then 'C'
else Suppliername.

Group on this formula, suppress details and move detail info into group footer, using the above formula instead of suplier name and summaries on any value fields as required.

You can then do a group sort to retain order you want.

Ian

I don't see the need for grouping on the formula. Your group sort will still work even if you suppress the header/footer sections as long as you have an inserted summary on the amount field--even if it is suppressed for some of the suppliers.
