Grouping field to get totals

I'm a rookie and need help from a veteran!!!

I have a field that can have different codes values.

ex. 001cola, 002cola, 003cola and 001slku, 002slku, oo3slku

I want to get totals for the above but,group all cola's together and all slku's together

Create a one line formula: Code_Type

mid({Code},4)


Group on this formula, and summarise on the group.
