grouping data in CR10

im trying to create a chart on CR10 which has data grouped by month only. this data is stored as the first day of the month ie 01/01/2005 all the way up to the current month.

Is there a way in CR10 that i can get the data to group by month and compare data from jan 05 to jan 06 and Jan 07 in a bar chart.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

@month

totext(year(datefield), 0,"")&"/"&totext(month(datefield),"00",0,"")

Then in select statement
month(datefield) = 1
