Grouping and Sorting

I have a report and I have a customer number and a customer name. I would like the tree to be alphabetized by customer number and the actual data on the reporting screen to be alphabetized by customer name. When I go to the sort order it is automatically sorted by the grouping and cannot be changed. Is there any way for me to accomplish what I want?

In CR8 you can use Customize Group Name to sort your Groups by one field, and display another more descriptive field in the group tree and group name objects.

Is that what you were looking for?

Otherwise can you create a formula to group on? And rememebr you don't have to display the group name in the header or footer. You can remove it and use any other fields there. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear

I already did what you suggested. My problem is that I would like it to be alphabetized in the tree by customer number and aplhabetized by cutomer name in the reporting view. I grouped by customer name and then customized the group name to customer id. The customer id in the tree is not in alphabetical order. If there is some code I can use to accomplish this that would be terrific!
