Grouping a chart by Time of Day & Day of Week

I want to create a chart which gives the average number of calls answered over a 4 week period by time of day.

I can group the graphto show a seperate chart for each day or I can group the graph by time of day.

How do I create a single graph which overlays the answered calls for the time of day for each day of the week?

I am probably being thick as it seems like such a simple query.

I use v.8.5

Hi Phil,

when I was a newbe with CR a coach gave me the following advise:
If you want to create a chart, create a report first that displays the data you want to represent. If you have that it is easy to build a chart from it. I tried it that way a lot of times and found that it works.

Concrete: I understand that you want to select the data for the last four weeks. Than you want to show the number of calls per hour. Or do you want to show it per day of the week (sun, mon, ...)? That's not clear for me. Anyway: I think you need a formula that brings out the period you want to assign the call, e.g:
{@period}
select hour-of-the-call
case < 6 : "Night hours"
case < 12: "Morning hours"
case < 18: "During the afternoon"
default : "Evening"
Then you insert the chart and in the assistant for data you choose yout formula as content of the upper right container. In the lower right container you insert a field you selected from the database, mark it and choose "count" as operation.

If you want to group it for both criteria as you tell in the headline of your thread, create to formulas and add them both to the upper right container.
