I'm using Crystal 7.

I'm trying to select accounts based on balances of $25 or greater. I'm using a running total because a line item may appear more than once within an account based on various things that may have happened to it, but it still needs to be included in the account total only once. An account may have more than one line item attached to it. The running total gives me the correct account balance, but I can't select the account group based on it.

Does anyone know of a way to fool the system so I can eliminate selected accounts at the reporting level rather than exporting to Excel or something and deleting records there.

Thanks,

Cathy

Instead of a running total, just total the amount by account. Then write a group selection formula:

Sum({Amount},{Account})>=25

this will exclude all accounts with less than $24 balance. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

Thanks, but the problem with that approach is that, since each line item can have multiple transactions, and I have 4 levels of grouping, I get inflated account balances. Although I can hide duplicate occurrances of a single transaction, Crystal can't select just one to sum by group level. Thus, the running total, which works perfectly except that I can't select on it.
