Hiya,
I've hit an issue where a macro that wraps the check return capability works for admins but not our CSR group. I believe the issue relates to the letter the macro prints at the end of the process (step 1 create custom charge invoice, and, step 2 run accpac return check object both work fine for the CSR group but step 3 which is print an advisement letter for the customer does not). I tried poking around the docs to find an answer - and of course searching my favorite accpac forums - but nothing. I think my best bet is to read through a security or error log after the CSR fails so I can see which permissions are missing but I am not seeing an error even in the system event tool (running accpac 5.5 on windows. So my question is how do I enable more verbose logging from Accpac so I can figure out the security permissions the CSR group needs to print these letters - or otherwise any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Sorry - bad post :)

Accpac ERP 500 5.5a. We have folks who answer the phones and email etc... (customer service representatives) for whom we have an accpac group created so we can restrict their access to what they need for their job. In our case that includes the right to process check reversals and generate notice letters [the latter is the part that they don't have permissions for].

For the question about verbose logging - there is no setting for that. You can run RVSpy to view what is happening.
Are you doing AR customer refund checks? Maybe they need AR Check Printing?

It's actually a returned check so the macro does three steps... the first is generate an invoice, the second is run the 'return customer checks' module [common services -> banking services -> bank transactions -> return customer checks] and the third is print a letter. We print the letter using CS0011 and CS0012.

You use optional fields to print a letter? That's odd. So in any case, do the users have optional fields rights?

Typically we use the optional fields to build a batch of letters.

They do have the CS modify optional fields rights.

It said "Method ~ of objecct ~ failed"

Mmm that's about as generic an error message you will ever see. Do you have an error handler?

I do use an error handler but it wasn't getting called (I dump to a log file or throw up a dialog depending...); in any case the behavior seems to have stopped after some messing with permissions. I will try to back out the perms and advise what I find FYI...

thanks again!
