R4 Merlin Magix rel 7.

I have a autologin group 784 with two members, ext 318 and 356.
Our AA2 answers all calls on our main number PRI, and an AA selector code transfers calls to the group 784 with group ring.

How can I get these calls to go to a voicemail box for the group if not answered? The extensions currently have their own separate voicemail boxes and are both in the coverage group 30 that points to 770 which is the linear VM group containing our 6 voicemail ports 7184-7189.

I tried just setting the group to overflow to group 770 with a threshold of 1 and time of 0 with prompt based overflow off, but nothing ever picked up.

Group ring will never over flow to VM. You may have to do a work around by looping an analog member to a co line port and covering trunk

If I change the group to be most-idle, how would I set it up so that calls will be answered by the voicemail box?
Do I need to create a mailbox in merlin messaging with the same group number 784, or do I use one of the group mail boxes 9991-9994?
Or can I just use one of the mailboxes already set up for the extensions?

Use overflow for group 784, direted to the voice mail calling group, and yes, create a mailbox 784 in the merlin messaging. You can also specify a group mailbox owner in the Magix, to light up when 784 gets a message.

OK, I have changed the group's type to "most idle".
I also removed the coverage buttons for the two extensions 356 and 318 from each other's phones.
I created a voicemail box in messaging "784" (the same as the group number).
Now, if both extensions are in a call, the voicemail picks up, but if they are not both in a call, the voicemail never picks up and whichever extension is getting the call just rings and rings.

What haven't I done right?

My overflow settings for the group 784 are
Overflow to 770 (Voicemail port group)
Overflow threshold = 1
Overflow Threshold time = 0
Prompt based = NO

My group is set to autologin.
Will the calls still overflow to a voicemail box after the specified delay even when it thinks someone is available?

I ended up renumbering an adjunct into our numbering scheme 320.
I changed the AA selector code transfer from a group 784 to 320.
I created a phantom voicemail box pointing to 318
I left the voicemail box for 318 as is.
I changed the voicemail for 356 to be a phantom voicemail box pointing to 318 as well.

356 and 318 have primary coverage buttons for the phantom adj 320.
320, 356, and 318 are all in the voicemail coverage group 30 covered by voicemail port group 770.

This way, the two extensions now share a voicemail box, there is voicemail coverage when dialing the "group ring extension" 320 (or if the extensions are called directly), , there is an indicator light for the mailbox on 318, and they do not have to use a login button.
