hi
I cant seem to find answer to my question ( but my apologies if this has been answeredvefore)so here goes
I would like to have groups of resources
ie
Engineers, welders etc, each group would have a max number eg 10 mech
engineers 10 elec engineers, 20 welders etc
when allocating resource rather than individuals I would like to
allocate a number from the total resource for that disciple
ie task A requires 4 welders 2 mech I elec,
and then when leveling the resource we would level against the pool total
its probably pretty simple but I'm not that experienced with MSP

any suggestion would be grateful

Hello trawets,

In the resource sheet you can create your resources:
Engineers Max units = 10,000%

If you then assign Engineers at 300% to a task, you still have 700% of Engineers available. If you exceed the 10,000% you have overallocated the resource and can level.

See:

Although the Help topic is about Project 2010, the information about max units applies to all releases.

I hope this helps.
Julie

Thanks Julie

This is exactly what I required, I thought it might have been quite simple to do but not quite that easy, but thank you for taking the time to reply and pointing me in the right direction

very best regards
Stewart
