Hiya,

I'm trying to set up group presence ; that should be straight forward though ;

I've created a ring group 8700 with two extensions added to that group (8709 and 8710).

I've two phones both with a single line keys respectively 8709 and 8710

The two prime line are set with a COS that has group presence
control and group presence third party set to yes

My feature access codes are programmed fine

If I dial the group presence join FAC, the phone then asks me to enter the DN of the group I try to join and then I get "invalid"
everytime

same if I try to leave that group

Don't get what's wrong with that...

I run MDC 4.1 SP1 and I try on 5312 and 5330 IP sets.

Thanks

Did you follow these rules for a PRG member?

The following DN Directory Number.s cannot be programmed as a prime or non-prime member of a PRG:
DNs that have not been assigned to any device
DNs of devices with the Voice Mail Port COS option
DNs assigned to ACD See Automatic Call Distribution. sets or programmed as ACD agents
DNs of devices with the RAD A Recorded Announcement Device (RAD) is a device which automatically answers a call and delivers a pre-recorded message. RAD is often used to inform a caller that they are in a queue and their call will be dealt in due order. COS option
a member of the current PRG
a member of another PRG
a Guest Room or Suite Member
members of Hunt Groups which are other than Voice or Name Tag groups
In addition, the following DN Directory Number.s cannot be programmed as a prime member of a PRG:
DNs that do not correspond to a multiline IP set or Hot Desk An ACD hot desk agent can log into any ACD set and the system will apply the agent's personal phone profile to that ACD set. After the agent logs into the ACD set, the agent has access to his or her own personal speed calls, features, and phone settings. user
a prime member of another PRG
In addition, the following DNs cannot be programmed as a non-prime member of a PRG:
DNs that do not correspond to any valid entities (see above)
DNs assigned to non-busy stations
Phantom DN

I use a personal Presence key on my multiline set for joining or leaving a group. Can you try that as a test on the 5330?

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Well the thing is I'm not using personal ring group, just normal ring group.

ok, sorry missed that. Did you try the suggestion of the presence key on the phone? For Ring groups you use the group presense feature key rather then the personal presence that I mentioned.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Time to double check:

"The two prime line are set with a COS that has group presence
control and group presence third party set to yes"

How sure are you?
