Hello,
I'm trying to understand group policy. I have most of my clients setup correctly but I'm a little confused about the servers. Should I create an OU for my servers then put them in there? Then assign my server policy to that OU? Thanks for the help.

Ok. Then I guess I'm doing it right :) Another question not pertaining to this, but group policies.

I have remote asst settings set up using group policies. I applied this to the 2003 server but it doesn't make the changes. Both check boxes under the remote tab stay unchecked. Any ideas on that? Thanks!

To troubleshoot, log on to that server and run rsop.msc and see if the group policy is being applied. Or use GPMC to check what settings are applied to that server.

Just one thing to add regarding your initial question - don't forget that policies do not "exist" at the GPO level, they all exist in AD. All that happens at the GPO level is that they are linked. Because of this, it may be a good idea to configure you're policies based on what they do, rather than where you're linking them (eg a policy for WU, a policy for offline files and folder redirect, a policy for remote assistance etc). By keeping your policies small and granular you can link them in multiple places rather than having multiple large policies which only have a few differences between them.

That's just my $0.02 for what it's worth
